Ars Technica reports on a new survey that found people to be more "emotionally attached" to books than all other media technologies. Link: Book lovers have emotional bond with paper.
This is not surprising; what bothers me about this is the language. Why is it an "emotional" attachment? This is the word used in the original report, which you can find here: Entertainment Media Research. Whether intentional or not, this choice of word gives the impression that this is an irrational attachment. It might not be so -- there are plenty of rational, unemotional reasons to prefer paper books over e-books.
