For the story, see the previous post and stories today about the Google CEO's claims that people will soon use the internet as a "truth predictor" to hold politicians to account (Reuters).
These ideas about Google as the arbiter of truth are indeed silly, though for a couple of reasons. Not only should we be careful in the future not to rely on Google for our notions of truth, but we're already doing it? I Google facts all day long. Eric Schmidt is almost sounding like a Luddite!

That's a good point -- it's already happening. It's especially worrisome because kids use the internet for their homework. (Which gets back to the point in the original CNet article: ask your librarian instead.)
